Farewell to a Professional Fan Forrest J. Ackerman, dead at the age of 92 . A man who made his fan's passions into a career, and whose Famous Monsters of Filmland magazine was a regular read for me from my pre-teens well into my teens, died yesterday. (Ah! I see that Tony Collett already had the news yesterday -- his piece includes some other remembrance links. I don't find myself with the time for much blog-crawling these days so I missed it all until this morning.)
