The Never-ending Story
Recent news, including admissions from U.S. central command chief General John Abizaid, indicate that more regions of Iraq are under "rebel" control today than were last year. The invasion of Iraq, never reasonably undertaken for any of the goals stated by the Bush administration, has handed the U.S. military alone over 1,000 deaths of honorable, self-sacrificing people killed on this fool's errand, and has essentially brought terrorism to regions where it wasn't before -- all the while helping to foster a climate that is incubating new terrorists.
Each day I hope that a few more people grasp this, and that they take this knowledge with them to the polls on November 2nd. It's going to be a long, hard trek back to civilization, folks. The sooner we begin, the better.
