Going Sullenly Where Only One Other Trek Has Gone Before

UPN has cancelled Star Trek: Enterprise. The final episode will air May 13th, ending the series in its fifth season. Even Voyager managed to make it through a seventh season, so Enterprise becomes the first of the Trek spin-offs, and the first Trek series since the original one (which only lasted three seasons) to go down before completing a seventh season. I feel sorry for the fans of the show, and for many of the people involved on the other side of the camera, though I tend to think that Berman and Braga may have simply gotten a deathgrip on this cash cow of the spaceways and refused to let it go to fresh hands before it was too late.

I have little doubt that petitions are already being circulated, targeting UPN for a reprieve and probably Sci Fi to see if they'd pick it up, but I'm not going to look around for them.
