Not a world I want to live in, but it's already being planned out for us all, isn't it?

Why am I suddenly reminded of Rob Sawyer's little bit with insurance companies as closet eugenicists in Frameshift?

Not familiar with the novel, but the concept seems like a natural enough extension. All of those actuarial tables have to at least be a temptation for some people to look at as a tool beyond their original, predictive intent.
